Steering the Future of Growth What if the biggest lever for project performance is not tighter control, but motivation? Bart Ghysels explores this question in his session, "Steering the Future of Growth". This grounded, practical session shows how project leaders, working through temporary teams, high pressure, and limited formal authority, can turn everyday execution into an engine for sustainable energy and progress at the personal, team, and organizational level, offering fresh perspectives and actionable insights on leading through influence rather than hierarchy. Drawing on real project cases, Bart shows how intrinsic motivators such as purpose, growth, and belonging can be activated to build momentum, ownership, and psychological safety, and shares practical techniques for clarifying purpose, involving teams in planning, celebrating quick wins, and adapting leadership to individual motivations. An interactive case discussion then challenges participants to diagnose a low engagement scenario and identify concrete steps to rebuild trust, commitment, and performance. The session positions motivation as a strategic capability, one that equips project leaders to steer growth in their people, their projects, and their organizations.
