Keynote - M.O.R.E. as the key to redefining the Path to Project Success
Tom Bloemers challenges the idea that hitting scope, schedule, and budget is the same as project success, in his session, "Delivering M.O.R.E.". This practical, framework-driven session explores what it takes to close that gap at every level (individual, project, and profession-wide), offering fresh perspectives and actionable insights to turn delivery into recognized impact. The session is structured around the M.O.R.E. framework (Manage perceptions, Own success, Relentlessly reassess project parameters, and Expand perspective), each addressing a different shift needed to move from project management success to project success. Tom connects each part of the framework to skills project professionals can start building now: managing how stakeholders perceive value, owning outcomes rather than just outputs, reassessing project parameters as conditions change, and expanding perspective beyond the immediate deliverable. He ties M.O.R.E. directly to the PMI Talent Triangle's foundation of power skills, ways of working, and business acumen, showing how the framework turns delivery into measurable impact. Drawing on his work helping finance, project, and board leaders lead change with clarity and energy, Tom makes the case that project success, not just project management success, is what stakeholders actually remember.

Learning goals summary:
  • Recognize that it's not just about hitting scope, schedule, and budget; it's about whether stakeholders see the value a project actually delivered.
  • Treat ownership of outcomes, not just outputs, as the shift that turns a well-managed project into a genuinely successful one.
  • Learn the M.O.R.E. framework, Manage perceptions, Own success, Relentlessly reassess project parameters, and Expand perspective, and the shift each part asks of a project professional.
  • See how M.O.R.E. connects directly to the PMI Talent Triangle's power skills, ways of working, and business acumen.
  • Put down your notes ready to start building the skills that turn delivery into lasting, recognized impact.
